From 2000 - 2004, Edd had successful tours all over the U.S. He has performed in several music events such as the annual Lake Tahoe Music Festival in Nevada... Western Swing picnics throughout Texas, and at many venues all across the nation. His gigs have been cheered by audiences everywhere and, his performances have been critically acclaimed by the newspapers throughout the country... including the Las Vegas Sun, Nevada Appeal, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the Johnson City Press.

Over the past few years Edd has performed for hundreds of booked entertainment jobs; mostly "open houses" for corporations, plus, various gigs which feature him solo or with up to a fifteen piece big band. Edd is well known all over the country and is heard on radio and seen on TV frequently.

Raised up in East Tennessee, Edd taught guitar throughout the 70's and worked in radio there before traveling all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico for over twenty years. He has published three guitar methods, with CD or cassette: (1) "16 Jazz Favorites for Guitar" and (2) "Edd Townsend's Jazz Guitar Method" which are both sold internationally.

Dividing his schedule between traveling to various church services, watching "Pickin' Time USA" on TV, and outdoor cooking ...Edd has formed the Tennessee School of Guitar... he teaches guitar by special appointment only. He owns the school and he also manages several other instructors in what has been described as one of the finest guitar schools in the nation.

Fond of traveling, Edd can be seen frequently at many Missionary Baptist Churches thoughout the country; such as, the Wayside Missionary Baptist Church in Johnson City, TN with fellow guitarist Rev. Steve Hilman. During July and August of each year, Edd always performs in many church "homecomings" with his guitar picking buddy, Bob Smallwood.

Edd will be the first to tell anyone, "Only what is done for Jesus Christ will be all that will stand in eternity."
